LEGENDS at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour

In partnership with Iconic Images, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour presents the return of 'Legends' at London Design Week 2019, 10th - 15th March 2019.

This initiative will see showroom windows and showcases dressed in their finest, expressing all the sophisticated glamour of the prevailing mood in design. One of the unmissable highlights of the show, a series of dazzling collaborations with top international names from the worlds of design, art and culture will create highly memorable displays.

This year, the creative jumping-off point is provided by the photographic archives of Iconic Images whose impressive portfolio includes era-defining images from the vanguard of fashion, rock, film and the arts. Through the lens of international photographers such as Norman Parkinson and Terry O’Neill – a glittering and celebrated group themselves – they capture magical moments that feature leading luminaries known for their talent, style and beauty.

These photographs, creatively and carefully matched, reflect the design zeitgeist in the showrooms. ‘Legends’ promises to bring the VIP treatment to London Design Week 2019, offering one more compelling reason, among many, to visit.

A roster of renowned interior designers includes Sophie Ashby who has been inspired by a bold portrait of Bianca Jagger for George Spencer Designs; international designers Yabu Pushelberg is incorporating an image of film star Michael Caine at SA Baxter Foundry & Design Studio; Bunny Turner has looked to an alluring photograph of film star Ava Gardner for Tissus d’Hélène’s showcase; Parisian decorator Bambi Sloane is teaming up with Houlès; Charleston-based interior designer Cortney Bishop is working with Holland & Sherry; Phillip Jeffries is teaming up with Gunter & Co, and Henry Prideaux is partnering with Fox Linton incorporating a stunning image of iconic model Twiggy. Further collaborations include Alidad with Tim Page Carpets; Hirsch Bedner Associates with Decca;Ben Pentreath with GP & J Baker;and Interiorsetc with Nobilis.

Arteriors, Decca, Gladee Lighting and Perrin & Rowe have all chosen fashion images by legendary photographer Norman Parkinson; Abbott & Boyd is teaming the 1970’s vibe with a shot of actress Raquel Welch by Terry O’Neill; while photography by Milton H Greene will grace the window of de Le Cuona and Pierre Frey.

Look out, too for, Porta Romana’s homage to four female artists; Vaughan’s tribute to Giacometti; and further showstopping displays at McKinney Gainsborough, Topfloor by Esti, Porada, Summit Furniture, Colony, West One Bathrooms and Colefax and Fowler. Finally, Nina Campbell is transforming her showroom into a decorated apartment.
