#FineArtFriday – David Bowie, Gerald Fearnley

David Bowie

The 1st June marked the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s first self-titled album. To celebrate this milestone, Iconic Images teamed with photographer Gerald Fearnley to publish ‘Bowie Unseen: Portraits of an Artist as a Young Man‘, revealing rarely and never-before-seen images from Fearnley’s archive which is available to purchase now.

Gerald Fearnley, brother of Derek ‘Dek’ Fearnley, who was playing bass with Bowie at the time, was a working photographer in 1967. “I was a still life photographer, working on my own, in a studio right off of Oxford Street. I don’t remember how it happened, but I was enlisted to take photographs of David for the cover. I was probably the only person he knew with a studio and a camera.”

Iconic Images are also proud to offer Fine Art Prints with a digital signature from photographer, Gerald Fearnley.
